This is a great charging solution for your EV. Installation required 1 of 2 paths. It requires you to already have a 240v proper amperage outlet in the garage, or you need an electrician to add a plug or hardwire. The photo is that of mine hard wired in right next to my breaker panel in the garage. My panel was a 200amp with plenty of space. It was wired well to start and the installation took about 45mins total. This included the electrician reading through the install guide to ensure everything was tied up right.

Very happy with this purchase! I debated for about 4 months after getting my EV

You don’t need a degree in Electrical Engineering to install this especially if all you are doing is attaching this to a wall and plugging it into a 240v outlet.

  4. Aria Ferrell

This is a great adjustable charging station. To immediately address some of the other negative comments, this device supports up to 50 amp charging output, but only hard wired with 4 AWG wire. With the included plug it is limited to 40 amp output. It is easy to remove plug and have electrician hardwire device.

This is one of the best chargers on the market today! I install EV chargers professionally

The ChargePoint Home Flex allows you to choose the max amp setting based on your home electrical setup

  7. Jennifer Matthews

I love this charger. It can be configured to use the max amperage of the switch you have it attached to and provides a pretty good indication of how much power your EV has gained, along with cost of power, time charging, & a history of when it was used. You can also disable it so it can’t be used between certain hours or during lower power cost hours.

  8. Oscar Clark

This is the best third party charger you could buy. This charger was easy to setup using the app and very easy to use. It has the added benefit of telling me how much money its costing me to charge my car each charge and also keeps a great account of historical charging sessions. This charger also allows for scheduled charging times so if your on a variable TOU rate you can set the charger to only charge at times when its cheapest for you. This charger has the ability to be hardwired or plugged into a nema 14-50 outlet hence the name flex. I did call tech support to resolve an ordering issue and they were extremely responsive and helpful. They resolved my ordering issue and then gave me some advice on setting the unit up. This is the best charger for the money and I compared it with juicebox, Grizzl-e, and clippercreek.

I was a little worried when buying this for EV6 since the vehicle is new in US. It turns out to be fully compatible. The Bluetooth setup is a little confusing but works fine when I figured out. The app should be updated to remind the user the session must be stopped before the plug can unlock and disconnect. Other than that, it is a hassle free variable current charger. I am currently adapting it to the 30A drier outlet until my electrician arrives to hardwire it to a 50A breaker.

  10. Thomas Barnes

There are a lot of less expensive charging units on the market, but I happened to recognize the ChargePoint brand and appreciated the reviews on Amazon. The electrician I had install the unit said these are one of the best on the market for both speed and quality, so I feel good with my purchase, even if it was a bit more expensive than other chargers. The investment in my electric car was significant, so I am more comfortable paying for a higher-quality unit.

I really liked how this is set up. I have a Nissan Leaf and my charger cable no longer plugged in. I had to replace it. The dealership wanted $1500. I got this on sale, and for under half the price of the dealership item. This is very nice, I can’t say enough how it included everything. I will say, it does take about 30 mins to install. This includes everything you will need except some small tools most people have like a level and a drill. It was exceptionally easy to connect to the charge point app. I can now easily see how much energy I am adding via the app. I happen to have a 50 amp set up, so I feel that it is quicker than the dealership plug.
